The Philippine Independence day is an annual national holiday in the Philippines that commemorates the freedom and independence from Spanish colonial rule. The Philippines observes the day on June 12, but this year the Rocky Mountain Region will do a virtual celebration on June 27, 2020. 

Also known as “Araw ng Kasarinlan” or “Araw ng Kalayaan,” Philippine Independence day is typically celebrated across the U.S. by Filipino Americans with parades and festivals filled with Filipino food vendors and performances. The festival will be the first of its kind with host from community leaders/business owners. There will be plenty of entertainment that includes singing, Filipino music, traditional Filipino dances, and Filipino food.
